Herbicide | Propanil 34%Ec 45%Ec 80Wdg

Propanil is a selective herbicide used in rice fields to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds quickly and effectively.

    Mode of action

Propanil works by inhibiting the photosynthesis of weeds. Once absorbed by the weed leaves, it blocks the energy transfer process within the plant, preventing the weed from photosynthesizing properly and causing an energy supply interruption. Subsequently, the weeds gradually develop yellowing leaves, wither, and eventually die.

    Features

1.Contact action: Primarily absorbed through the leaves of weeds.
2.Rapid onset of action: Weeds begin to wither within a few days of application.
3.High selectivity: Rice readily breaks down the herbicide, making it safe for rice, while weeds cannot decompose it and die.

    Applicable crops

Propanil is a selective herbicide specifically designed for controlling weeds in paddy fields, primarily for rice.

    Weed control

Propanil is primarily used to control annual weeds in rice paddies, with particularly significant effects on barnyard grass (Echinochloa spp.). It also effectively controls crabgrass (Digitaria spp.) and some other annual broadleaf and grassy weeds. When applied during the seedling stage, it rapidly inhibits weed growth, causing them to gradually wither and die, thus reducing competition for nutrients, water, and light from the rice.
